St. Laurent Backyard

A MASTERPIECE IN POOL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Over the years Stone Mason of Spring, Joe DiPaulo and Barbara Kierewicz, have been challenged to create some of the most unique and imaginative pool projects. Their graphic and architectural backgrounds enable them to create and build many important works. Conceiving a design that pushes the envelope and is complex in its many components was achieved through the knowledge and tutoring of Joe’s father who was a turn of the century master craftsman in the field of construction and engineering.

Our website will feature the St. Laurent project. Yvette and Matthew St. Laurent planned their dream house for years. Along with one of the most authentically built stately manors, they wanted an equally imaginative backyard project that would enhance their home and lifestyle. Over the course of several years of planning, we finally embarked on creating this piece of art.

FEATURES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. A large swimming pool – 10′ deep
2. A large entry with ample shallow space and two flanking stone stained glass lights
3. A water arch entry to a hidden lagoon that is also entered and exited through a garden tunnel
4. A large waterfalls cave with rear-exit that leads to a staircase and tunnel slide
5. A tunnel slide that drops you out into a large waterfall cave you swim out of
6. Two cast iron Chinese cauldrons that flank the elevated spa and case a fire image – illuminating the atmosphere
7. Formal 4′ raised pillbox spa. Spa is 10′ in diameter, raised 2′ above the landing. The spa has six pillars topped with cherubs that hold up a masonry ring and stained glass dome
8. Leading from the spa, a higher platform contains curved stone couch and fire pit
9. State of the art equipment
10. LED colored lighting to create nighttime magic

In this project we were able to take advantage of the land elevations. A retaining wall was built to protect the house with the pool on the lower level. In our “News & Articles” tab, check out our editorial feature in In Cahoots magazine.
